Re: 2019 schedule

3 road games in a row? Ugh.

A short week road game (v. Wpg Thur Aug 15) coming off a road game against an Eastern opponent (v. Ham Sat Aug 10)? Brutal. Wpg will be coming off a home game with 2 extra days of rest (Thurs Aug 8) Beyond brutal.

I think he is only here based on his 3rd down skill set, which hasn't been a strength of this team in the past.
It's early, I know, but I'm nominating this for Understatement Of The Year already.

The team went 7-11 and Tedford, Cortez and Malone were shown the door, after the one year semi-departure from the norm. 7-11, coincidentally, the same results as this year.

The convenience store record has become all too much the norm in recent years.

Re: The decline of Vancouver sports media & its effect on Lions

Whether you guys like it or not, Canucks talk is what gets the metre moving in this town. Losing the rights doesn't change that. If anything they will now be able to control the conversation even MORE with the leeway to be more critical, etc. I wish it were different and I understand the frustratio...

Maybe his bobblehead night might give Jennings an extra incentive to play his best.
I'm worried if I get to the stadium and they try to hand me a Jennings bobblehead Ed Gainey will jump out and snatch it away.

Re: 2017 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

I noticed there were no on-field pyrotechnics during the player introductions and no on-field announcer. The stadium atmosphere was pretty flat, and that wasn't helped by the Lions' performance for most of the night. It was nice to see lots of kids parents, and an overall younger demographic. That'...

Re: 2017 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

The streaming service is only available outside the U.S., Caribbean and other area serviced by ESPN. That means Canadians traveling in the U.S. will still have trouble getting games unless they have a U.S. cable company subscription that will allow them to view the ESPN3 stream. That or a satellite...

Re: Should next Lions owner(s) consider a minor celebrity st

Two candidates are: the "Rock" who recently tweeted some favourable comments about the CFL and Wally Buono...and Jon Bon Jovi who was part owner of an Arena team and the front-man for Toronto's Buffalo Bills bid (with T. Rogers and L. Tannenbaum). Dwayne Johnson (aka "The Rock")...

Re: Johnny Manziel to the CFL?

Too much baggage. Some fans may like him, I acknowledge. Just IMO ... During his time at Texas A & M their games quickly became appointment viewing for me. He always seemed to be doing something no one else was doing on a college football field then. But at the time he declared for the draft I ...

Re: 2016 Grey Cup Game Day Thread

. When they got up to leave, I called over, "hey, what part of the States are you guys from?" (I often ask this naively - just to wind up NFL worshipers, knowing damn well they're really just wannabees). "Um, we're actually from Vancouver" the Panther guy said sheepishly. "...
