Re: 2022 BC Lions Dance Team
It’s absolute garbage that males can try out for the team. Hopefully none of them make it!! I may be old school, but I believe cheerleaders should be traditionally feminine; attractive young ladies holding pom poms, doing amazing dances. It’s not demeaning to women at all, quite the contrary. Beside...

Re: Eskimos: change your name
For those who are unaware: the term "eskimo" was initially used by non-native colonizers to refer to Indigenous peoples because the colonizers thought that the term "eskimo" meant "eater of raw meat," which connoted barbarism and violence. https://www.npr.org/sections/g...

Re: why is CFL interest so tepid in toronto?
Great topic cms22, and great insights shared by everyone. This is something I always wondered as well; why is the CFL so unpopular in Toronto, and what exactly could the league do about it? For years I was told that Toronto's attendance woes were due to them playing in the Rogers Centre, and once th...

Re: Who are your Top 5 Despicable B.C. Lions Players?
I really didn’t like Byron Parker in the one season he played here in 2012. In the 2012 season the Lions were the best in the league, and were supposed to repeat as Grey Cup champs. The Lions secondary was filled with heart and soul/ hardworking players like Marsh and Banks. Couldn’t say the same f...

I digress however. Orlondo Steinauer had a superb season, and it’s even more impressive that this was his rookie year. He seems like a great guy as well. I shouldn’t have been so critical of him.

Re: 2019 Grey Cup Game Day Thread
Is it just me or does anybody else get the impression that ZLions lost a big bet on the Ticats? :tease: Since when is it wrong for a coach to smile "from time to time". Maybe the context behind one of those irksome smiles was when Steinauer got the news that Banks was done for the game, a...

Re: 2019 Grey Cup Game Day Thread
Props to the Grey Cup organizers, TSN and the CFL for putting on a great show. The coverage all week was great, the sellout crowd was into it, the weather was purrfect and the half time show rocked. What a shame Hamilton played with ZERO intensity. This had all the makings to be an exciting game to ...

Re: 2019 Grey Cup Game Day Thread
What a disgraceful performance from Hamilton! The entire game Hamilton's coach was all smiling on the sidelines like this is all a joke. The players were following his demeanor..there was absolutely zero intensity from Hamilton whatsoever. This was supposed to be a great back and forth game to watch...

Re: Ottawa at B.C. Sept. 13, 2019 - Game Day Thread
Jennings with a classical Jennings performance: 0 TD, 2 interceptions and looked totally out of it. As bad as this season has been, at least he’s not on our side anymore.

Re: Lions Additions and Cuts
Stefan Logan just got released by Montreal, comes as a bit of a surprise as he was putting up decent numbers on kick/punt returns, but I guess age/salary was a factor. We probably aren’t in need of a player of his calibre, but I wouldn’t mind at all having him back here in BC.

Re: Marc Trestman to the XFL
Ah yes, the XFL. A very interesting concept, we'll see how it plays out. Good on Vince for taking another crack at it. Wonder how many ex CFLers we'll see down there. According to Wikipedia, the XFL is offering its players $7500 a game, which is apparently "substantially higher than the 2018 mi...

Re: 2019 BC Lions Free Agents
The Duron Carter signing has gotten me excited. If he gets his mental health together and is utilized properly by the coaching staff, he could very well be the best/most reliable receiver we’ve had since Geroy. Could attract more bums in the seat for us a well. A bit of a risky signing perhaps, but ...

Re: 2019 BC Lions Free Agents
Nice signings so far Ed! So glad we got Reilly now, Jennings was soo painful to watch the past couple of seasons.
This probably means Jovan Olafioye and Manny Arceneaux are probably gone. Both were great players and represented the Leos extremely well...I wish them the best.
