Re: Day 1 of the new XFL today (saturday)

Seattle had to open more seating sections for their game on Saturday. They're expecting up to 40,000.

Re: 2019 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

Only about 6 weeks late replying to the idea of a new stadium, but Vancouver Giants owner Ron Toigo, while not outright saying it, but not making it a secret either that he would love an 8-10k seat arena, likely in Surrey. I would guarantee that if that were ever become a reality, I could see the ne...

Re: 2018 schedule

Would like to see more 4pm games on Saturday. And by more, I mean all of them.

Don't see a need for the 3rd bye week, what's worse is BC has all three in the first half of the season.

Re: Leos Name New Club President

I like his resume, but was hoping we would see someone younger and local who has a pulse on the city and isn't in denial of where the team sits on the city's hierarchy of sporting and entertainment options.

Hopefully we see a complete revamp and regeneration of our marketing department.

Re: Football Operations: GM, Head Coach, Coaching Staff?

So Braley won't be selling the team this off-season. Damn it.

Re: 2017 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

Also, what exactly happened in 2005? 2005 was the year they essentially "returned" to being a top attraction in the city, for lack of a better term. They did very well in 2004,, both on and off the field, with going to the Grey Cup and attracting disgruntled NHL fans while the 04/05 locko...

Re: The decline of Vancouver sports media & its effect on Li

Speaking of Shaw and media cuts, this also came out today: Shaw TV stations to close in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton as funds diverted to Global The comments after the article are interesting. This one is probably close to the truth: Mike Davis It's like napster. Adapt or die. The future is comm...

Re: Rintoul is toast (grab the pitch forks and storm TSN 104

Don't count on it. In fact, expect even less football talk. The cuts are basically forcing 1040 to talk Cancuks all day, every day.

Re: Rintoul is toast (grab the pitch forks and storm TSN 104

Haven't listened to 1040 in months since getting SiriusXM. 1040 has been a total dumpster fire since Bro Jake and Pratt were brought on. Occasionally I'll listen to the odd Ray Ferraro, Farhan or Julio interview, though. Really hope the Rintoul/Sportstalk rumour is true. Would definitely tune into t...

Re: Rintoul is toast (grab the pitch forks and storm TSN 104

Rintoul is gone from TSN 1040. who will handle p-b-p this year. My money is on HockeyAbbs. Farhan, Moj, Price as long shots. Maybe scotty will be back via contract basis. TSN 1040 pre and post game shows were really improved with Jeff Patterson added to the usual group of Moj, Burnie, Gulio, etc. I...

Re: Lions ownership discussion thread

Sidoo would be a good choice, but does he have deep enough pockets on his own or would he need to bring a group of minority owners? I know people have said he wouldn't try to meddle with the football ops like people expect Aquilini would, but Sidoo did play football. It was because of him that Blak...

Re: Riders at Lions Nov. 5 postgame comments

Admittedly my first game in a couple of years, but what a time. Great atmosphere, things of the in-game production that made me cringe in the past were gone, and most importantly, the Lions put the Bombers on blast by going all out in a game that was over after the 1st quarter. I know there has been...
