Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

I was a bit disappointed MIN didn't make it to the SB, as it would have been an historic first time with a home team hosting. The NFL apparently was concerned if they had as they want it to be always a neutral site game. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/possibility-of-vikings-making-the-super-bowl...

Re: bogus web pages and misleading titles

I've seen the Sidney Crosby "career is over" the most. Global even made the clickbait a news item:

It's interesting that they were depicted as wearing black pants in both home and away unis according to this:

Re: Lions ownership discussion thread

I have great respect for David Braley but it’s looking more and more likely that the Lions will eventually end up as part of an estate sale. I hope he’s made clear provisions for that in his will. Sadly, I tend to agree this is looking very possible. The only changes that could have an effect on hi...

Re: 2017 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

So I got an email from my ticket rep saying they were offering me a kids rate (12 and under) on my Red Zone tickets. 1 kids rate with every adult purchased. The Pass and lanyard around their neck will be a different colour etc. to identify them as kids, so there is so planning to this not a off the...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

Is Wentz ready in two weekd Torn ACL, he probably will miss most of next season as well. The Brady throwing hand injury has just made JAX vs NE a more interesting game. The Cone of Silence has come down on the Patriots camp, and there's speculation about how much it will hinder him. https://nesn.co...

Re: The decline of Vancouver sports media & its effect on Lions

The Lions just announced the renewal of the radio agreement with TSN 1040 for another 5 years. LeLacheur was on with Donnie and the Moj at the top of the 3rd hour.

Re: Glenn signs in Edmonton

Kevin Glenn is a decent regular season QB, but time and time again he shows us why he does not have a ring in this league, despite being a starter here for like 17 seasons. Constantly underperforms in the playoffs, you guys witnessed it when he was in BC back in 2014 and during this year's Eastern ...

Re: Kevin Glenn signs with the Edmonton Eskimos

No question Glenn will be in the HOF, (and deserves to be). We denigrate him sometimes for throwing INTs at the worst times, but the fact is he's been "good enough" to be continuously employed for 17 seasons (and counting). How many QBs can say that? After dispatching BC in the 2012 West Final (subb...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

Wow, MIN 29 NO 24 and JAX 45 PIT 42 were like watching a couple of really good CFL games. After that, I'd say NE should have a clear path to another SB win. Even after that win, I still don't think JAX has a chance next week of upsetting them. MIN is looking good over PHI, and would make a more inte...

Re: Johnny Manziel Offered 2 Year Contract

According to this SI article, https://www.si.com/mmqb/2016/03/15/johnny-manziel-nfl-cleveland-browns wriiten just after he was released by the Browns, He has been dropped by his agent, Erik Burkhardt, and his marketing team. Interesting that he's back with them now, as they proceed to disrespect the...

Re: Johnny Manziel Offered 2 Year Contract

What an idiot Manziel is--trolling his old team, then deleting the tweet.
Doesn't indicate the level of maturity he will need to succeed playing in the CFL.

I'm glad the Lions aren't in a position to waste time on him.

Just heard on 1040 Franklin signed a 2 year deal with TOR, and SSK has released Glenn, so the QB picture is getting a little clearer in the CFL.

Re: Commissioner clears Manziel for CFL eligibility

IMO, Manziel is currently a joke, and his CFL adventure won't end well. HAM has exclusive rights for only another 10 days. Let's see if June Jones backs up his extravagant (and ridiculous) claim by signing him.

Re: Lions name Jarious Jackson offensive coordinator and QB coach

From the standpoint that 2018 will be a transitional season, this is probably the best we can hope to get. It isn't really unexpected, given his links to Hervey back in EDM (before Chris Jones took everyone to SSK). Wally would certainly be comfortable working with him. One thing I like is Jarious o...
