Re: Lions @ Alouettes. Game Day Thread. Eastern Semi-Final
Some terrible officiating, too. How was that not offensive PI by Carter? Just how obvious does it have to be?

Re: Lions vs. RedBlacks Game Day Thread
Shoulder separation will likely keep him out for weeks, given how fragile the surgically repaired area already is. If it was a separation it wouldn't be popped back into place. Sounds like a dislocation, which in the short term often heals more quickly than a separation but is also indicative of jo...

Re: Lions 7 - RedBlacks 5 -- Post Game Stats and Comments
ok I hope so popping it back in is not a big deal. While that is... sorta true, its what could have torn on its way out (which is more likely the more often its been injured) Believe it or not, when a guy has had three injuries to the same shoulder within 24 months, a dislocation might be more omin...

Re: Lions 7 - RedBlacks 5 -- Post Game Stats and Comments
Can you imagine anyone who is not a Lions' or Redblacks' fan actually watching this game? The entertainment quality of the CFL product is at a low ebb. I think the knee-jerk safety concession instead of punting from your end zone is probably a bad move much of the time, such is the inability of the ...

Re: Banks on the block?
Wpg has released Banks. I think this might be the end of the line. He had an excellent career.

Re: Grey Cup Game Day Thread
It's been a while since I've seen one team look so bad in a grey cup Edmonton twice, in 1977 and 1990. The 1977 team might have used weather and field conditions as an excuse (though there were rumours of of excessive partying) but the 1990 team, like today's Ticats, was simply outclassed. These tw...

2nd and 19, they get the first down. That's the clincher.

Re: Grey Cup Game Day Thread
Burris not great but not that bad. Burris did not drop an easy first down catch at midfield when the game was close, or snap the ball too early, and he doesn't play defence (no one on Hamilton seems to be playing defence). 319 yards for Sask in the first half. This is just a total mismatch, one team...

Re: Grey Cup Game Day Thread
The West is just so much stronger than the East. I'd take BC over any of the East teams this year and the Lions clearly weren't as good as the Stamps or Riders over the course of the year.

Re: Review of 2013, Coaching and Personnel, Changes
That's a fair point re: Moore but protecting him is sort of a way of saying "We want you here." And he's a big contributor with age in his favour so anything that sends a positive signal is worth the risk, unless it's obvious that the chances of re-inking him are slim. Of the 10 imports on...

Re: Review of 2013, Coaching and Personnel, Changes
Difficult decision regarding protecting Moore. He's a free agent and may bolt for another shot at the NFL. If Wally is fairly sure that he can't sign Moore, he'll probably leave him unprotected. But if there's a legit chance-- doesn't have to be close to a certainty-- I think he's gotta be protecte...

Re: Review of 2013, Coaching and Personnel, Changes
Glad to see that Wally would like to keep Marsh and Phillips. It's been suggested that Marsh should be left unprotected due to his age; well, Marsh continues to be solid, I don't care a whit about his age until such time as he starts showing clear decline and that hasn't happened. He was still one o...

Cam Wake strikes again
Three more sacks tonight vs. the Bengals, including a game-winning safety in OT. What a football player. He was amazing to watch in the CFL, has only gotten better and is a genuine class act to boot.
