Re: Johnny Manziel Offered 2 Year Contract

Certainly some aspects of his behaviour could be put down to having untreated bi-polar disorder but I think you can analyze the totality of his attitude and actions and determine there are some very immature components to the man. Playing in the spring league is probably the best place for him righ...

Re: Johnny Manziel Offered 2 Year Contract

This would seem to suggest that Johnny Football won't be coming to the CFL this season:

Is Johnny Football bipolar?

I'd like to see him straigh...

Re: Super Bowl LII Game Day Thread, February 4, 2018

With his performance, Nick Foles will definitely be the Eagles starting QB next season and Carson Wentz might be released or traded if he's not willing to be relegated to a backup. Oh, I don't think so, Robbie. Wentz is the franchise QB and has a far higher upside than Foles, despite Foles's great ...

Re: Super Bowl LII Game Day Thread, February 4, 2018

I'm pulling for the Eagles in this one. They've previously been to two SBs, losing both. Their last NFL championship (pre-Super Bowl) was in 1960. I'd like to see Nick Foles have another good game--as he has so far in the playoffs. However, it's hard to see the Patriots losing this one, as has been ...

Re: Lions sign new QB

Not meaning to be negative here, but his draft scout ratings don't look exceptional. Below is the summary. He's not projected to be drafted. As for mobility, his speed (4.97 40) would seem to put limitations on that; he appears to be big and slow. Just for comparison, Travis Lulay turned in a 4.74 4...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

I was pleased to see the Eagles win, but surprised at how easy the win came. I had thought that this game would be the close one, and the AFC game would be the one-sided one--just the opposite of what happened. I was really pleased to see Nick Foles play so well, particularly since no one had expect...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

Is Wentz ready in two weekd Torn ACL, he probably will miss most of next season as well. Yes, could be. He had surgery on Dec. 18, and the usual recovery time back to full activity is 9-12 months. The Eagles will be careful with Wentz and will probably ease him back into limited action mid-season. ...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

Three good games in the Divisional Playoffs this past weekend. I was glad to see the Eagles win in a thriller, and then the two on Sunday were really good games. Happy to see the Vikings win, but you have to feel sorry for poor Marcus Williams, the Saints' safety who whiffed on the pass to Stefon Di...

Alouettes sign QB Josh Freeman

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... ay-in-cfl/

Freeman was a starting NFL QB, but hasn't played last season and this one.

I wonder whether this may temper any motivation on the part of the Als to roll the dice on Johnny Football.

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

Now that the Seahawks failed to make the playoffs for the first time in several seasons, which team will you root for? Any personal biases, e.g. ex-Lions on one of the playoff teams? In the NFC, I'll be rooting for the Eagles. Doug Pederson, who is easy to like, has done a great job of building thi...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

That was a most disheartening beating that the Seahawks took yesterday (unless you're a Rams fan! :sigh: ) The Rams look for real, and I can see them doing well in the playoffs (and I hope they do). It raises a lot of questions about the Seahawks going forward, and the following piece in the Seattle...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

I had to miss yesterday's Seahawks game, but read about it this morning. It sounds as though the Seahawks pretty much disgraced themselves with the ejections, fights, and off-field interaction with the crowd. I haven't read everything on it, but they come off as sore losers. Not only that, but I gat...

Re: Football Operations: GM, Head Coach, Coaching Staff?

And now, with all these celebrity sexual harassment accusations and lawsuits, the latest charges include Warren Moon. This is off-topic, I guess, but, yeah, Robbie, that's too bad. It's always disappointing to find that one of your heroes has feet of clay. This isn't the first time that Moo...
