Re: Darian Durant - Signs 1 year deal with Bombers

Not a fan of Darian Durant. Not really a fan of Kavis Reed either. I thought they kind of deserved each other. Durant may help the Bombers depth, unless he tries to run a coach out of town. He won't have that kind of power in Winnipeg. Will he help the attitudes in Winnipeg? Dunno about that ... If...

Re: Sports & Stuff boarded up ?

Rick posted in here earlier that they were unable to negotiate a new lease that worked for him so they were closing at that location but will be reopening as soon as they come up with a new location. :good: We always make a point of stopping at SportsNStuff when we go through Chilliwack on our way ...

I have great respect for David Braley but it’s looking more and more likely that the Lions will eventually end up as part of an estate sale. I hope he’s made clear provisions for that in his will.
Apparently his boys like football......

Re: Pending Lions free agents

Shaq Johnson has extended his contract. http://3downnation.com/2018/01/19/lions-extend-canadian-receiver-shaq-johnson/ Here is an updated list of remaining Lion free agents. BAZZIE, Alex CLARKE, Adrian DHILLON, Jaskaran FABIEN, Kirby FENNER, Chandler FORDE, Maxx JACKSON, Anthony (Buddy) JONES, Andre...

Re: Jennings contract re-structured

Speculation over that has pegged just about every loose QB as going to the Lions. Some hinted that the Riders pulled the trigger on Collaros because BC had expressed interest in him according to one of their regulars who claims to have "connections" in Calgary. They figure Adams could wind up here....

Re: Jennings contract re-structured

I have to believe one QB is going to be the odd-man out in Riderville. To have Adams, Bridge and Collaros all under contract once the season starts is potentially an embarrassment of riches. The jury might still be out on Bridge and Adams as annointed starters and which Zac Collaros appears next sea...

He has had contracts now with all the CFL teams. He should be a solid backup for Edmonton.
Now he just needs to build a time machine and sign with the Hamilton Tigers

Re: Alouettes sign QB Josh Freeman

Would Freeman be regarded as a “CFL-style” quarterback? Namely fleet of foot with good scrambling ability but perhaps under-sized by NFL standards?

Interestingly Tyrell Sutton has publicly spoken about Freeman needing to make the effort to avoid the bright lights of Montreal’s night life.

Re: Johnny Manziel Offered 2 Year Contract

I can understand the lure of Manziel from a ticket-selling perspective, but paying Manziel to come in and be a starter in year 1 would be an incredibly stupid risk. How many first-year qbs can come in and be successful s a starter out of the gate? Not Moon, not Flutie, not Garcia, not Dickenson... ...

Re: Johnny Manziel Offered 2 Year Contract

While interesting for a brief moment, I have grown weary of the buzz surrounding Manziel potentially coming to the CFL. Granted, I am not a fan of his attitude towards playing (refusing to study the playbook of the Browns), his motivation (the whole mimicking the rubbing of money at every opportunit...

Re: Riders acquire Zach Collaros from Ticats

At one time, some people thought he was the next Doug Flutie. Not this fan, but he has talent. It seems that under Kent Austin all of his confidence just drained away. I expect he will make a good recovery under Chris Jones. Jones, like Don Matthews, has a way of building confidence in players. I a...

Re: Bighill released by Saints

I agree the Lions have no room for Bighill under the cap. Awe is much cheaper and was dominant when he was activated. As for Boyko, he was activated by the Chargers for the first time this week and was listed on the depth chart as third-string left guard today against the Jets. Does that mean the 3...
