Bighill has been re-signed by the Saints for another year (let's update the thread title for accuracy).

Re: Pending Lions free agents

Just signed JOHNSON, Antonio for 2 more years. Bit surprised by this. Buono seems very high on him, me not so much. I think the Lions can do better and hope they sign guys to compete with him and not just hand him the job. Hunter Steward and Kirby Fabien are the two key pieces of the O-line remaini...

Re: Bighill released by Saints

I would absolutely bring Bighill back to BC. He and Solly together gave the Lions a huge competitive advantage. Awe has been good too, and if he's still cheap we should keep all 3. It would help with special teams, you could rotate them to keep everyone fresh, and even put all 3 in there on certain ...

Not too thrilled by this. Was really hoping for Condell or someone else who may be a bit more innovative.

Re: Washington 2nd frontrunner for Als Head Coaching Gig

According to Herb Z: Another name to consider in #Als' HC search: Gary Crowton. He's in Montreal today being interviewed. He was Winnipeg's OC in 2012-13 and has extensive NCAA experience as an OC. Held same job with Chicago Bears and was BYU HC from 2001-04. This points to Condell as HC, Crowton a...

Re: Washington 2nd frontrunner for Als Head Coaching Gig

Condell would be great as OC here, and perhaps give him the assistant HC job as well so it's known that he'll be the one taking over for Buono next year, so we can begin grooming him for that role? His offenses have been quite good.

Re: Football Operations: Ed Hervey - GM, Wally Buono - VP and HC

Ed Hervey has hired Torey Hunter as Director of Player Personnel and Development.

Neil McEvoy, Geroy Simon, and Ryan Rigmaiden also retain their current positions. Geroy now also adds CFL Draft Coordinator to his portfolio.

Re: Football Operations: Ed Hervey - GM, Wally Buono - VP and HC

I disagree. I think Buono really did want to retire, but Hervey coming to a team that has an absentee owner, no president, and then no head coach, that's not a good situation to be taking over. You basically have nothing. Who do you go to for approvals? If Braley isn't reachable, who else is there? ...

Re: Locker Room Sale - 2017

For me it was very disappointing compared to previous years. The $50 Rebok game used jerseys were nice, but mostly players who didn't sell in previous years. Guys who were never stars, and some who may have only been in the lineup for pre-season. About what you would expect for that price point thou...

Re: Washington 2nd frontrunner for Als Head Coaching Gig

So Jamie Elizondo is likely still in play. He had been mentioned as a potential candidate for HC in Montreal... To come to BC, it would need to involve a promotion of some sort such as becoming Assistant HC along with being OC. I like the up-tempo, ball-control game he calls. That sort of game plan...

Re: Football Operations: Ed Hervey - GM, Wally Buono - HC

Whether or not you like, dislike or are ambivalent to this development, at least there is more certainty surrounding the team. Personally I appreciate that. But I do very much agree with the point BC Fan made in regards to Hervey's temperment and how the market in Edmonton would be more likely to f...

Re: Football Operations: GM, Head Coach, Coaching Staff?

Very interesting. What does this mean about our QB situation? Does Hervey bring in his own guy (James Franklin) or do we keep with what we have? What about head coach? I'm hopeful for someone outside the organization to be brought in as HC, as I have zero faith in the coaches we have.

Re: Football Operations: GM, Head Coach, Coaching Staff?

Nothing would turn me off more as a longtime Lions fan than to have Hervey's anti-fan and anti-media presence in the B.C. front office. Here's my post from April, when he was deservedly fired in Edmonton. Good riddance. Hervey's elitist isolationism can't be tolerated. The league depends on fan eng...
